Cache is King
Been hiking again the last couple of weekends. We went to Jack's Pond, another local trail. Nice and mellow, no steep grades. We snagged a couple of geocaches while we were there.
This Saturday Sheri had errands on her mind and I had hiking on mine, so she took Collin and while Caidan and I set off for Oak Riparian Park again. There's plenty of ground to cover in this area, so it will probably be a few more trips before we've seen it all. We were on a roll and found six caches. Wow, Caidan brought home a lot of "treasure." He helps me navigate and he's becoming an expert at spotting the cache (after Dad gets him close).

Caidan is required to bring a bunch of his old toys to trade them for anything he wants out of the geocaches we find. Sheri & I will also add a few extra goodies to the ammo cans when we can. This helps to keep us from accumulating more ... uh .... stuff.

Here's a picture of "the peak" and the lake from where Caidan & I were on Saturday. On Sunday we all went and we made it to the lake. We found four more caches and picked out some routes for our next adventure.

This was an area where we stopped for a snack. Boulders make the best tables and chairs. It's south of Lake Calaveras at the base of the peak. That peak will be our destination the next time we hit the trails.
